Shiatsu Therapy Association of Australia Inc. is an independent body, run by members for members by way of a National Council and member input. All monies collected through fees are used solely for members and the promotion of shiatsu. The National Council is formed by members voting at the Annual General Meeting in May.

There are three types of membership: Full, Associate and Student (for 2 years). Full and Associate members are renewed every February. A pro-rata fee is available for people wishing to join late in the yearly membership cycle.
